On-Page SEO checklist 2014: 12 Things to Improve PR
On-Page SEO is a mandatory aspect in SEO. All search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing give major importance to the on-page SEO than Off-Page SEO. Before publishing a new post, we must take care several points. So, in this article I am discussing major and compulsory points to implement before publishing a new post.

The following points are very helpful to reach successful on-page SEO. You can check these points to od posts also.
Keywords are very important in on-page SEO and Off-Page Seo. Without target keywords, the article is a “Useless articles” (or) “Waste article”. Google keyword planner is the best and professionals using free tool. Select right, profitable and appropriate target keywords by using this tool. This is called “Keyword Research”. In this Keyword research, choose high global searching and low competition keywords to write articles. The selected target keywords must be relevant to your blog niche. Start writing the articles by using the chosen target keywords. It should be human readable but not robots readable.
2.TITLE TAGS in On-Page SEO:
Title tag is the major heading of the article. It should be in <H1> format. Write this title simple, short, understandable and unique. For best results, place the keyword at the starting of the title. Google search engines gives highest priority for this starting word.
- It should not exceed 70 characters
- Not more than 5 to 6 words
- Start with Keywords

Search engines will give the highest priority to the HEADING-1 than HEADING-2 because, title started with target keyword. So try to write the title with keyword at first.
3. SEO Friendly Permalinks:
Permalink means Page (or) Post URL. It should be SEO friendly, i.e., simple, short and target keyword included. In wordpress and blogspot blogs, title will be added in permalink structure automatically. In this URLs have more than 50 characters. We can short the permalink by remaining date and category.
Action tip: Use short and sweet URLs that include your target keyword.
4. Use Multimedia in posts:
Images, videos, screenshots will give best results in ranking of your blog and its pages. Add at least one image (or) video in every post, it increases user interaction signals.
Higher perceived value = more links = higher rankings
5. Use Outbound links:
Outbound links mean, adding of another blog/website URL to your articles at specific places. Every post should have at least 2 outbound links. This outbound links must be from popular blogs, news sites, .edu and .gov resources only. Outbound links send the information to the Google about your blog activity and its update. 6. Include your keyword in the beginning of your article:
Keyword placement in article is an essential part in the article making. Try to avoid keyword stuffing, it reduces ranking. The correct placement of keyword in post is
- Place the keyword in the last sentence of the first paragraph
- The first paragraph must be 100 words
- 2 to 3 times in next paragraphs.
- Add the keyword in conclusion also

7. Heading Tags:
Heading tags are important tags in SEO. There are H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6.
<H1> = For Post or Page title
<H2> = For Subheading
<H3> = for sub-sub headings
Keyword placement in H1, H2 and H3 are important places.
8. Page loading Speed:
Page loading time is the major aspect in SEO. If your blog loading time is high, visitor will jump to another blog because you are not the first information provider. Simply the visitor starts their searches for their resources in another way. So, try to reduce to loading time. 9. Must have Social sharing:
Social networking sites are famous on the web. Everybody have the accounts in these sites. Most popular social sites are Facebook, Google plus and Twitter. For bloggers, this is the correct place to promote their information to the right people. So, your blog should have social sharing options.

10. Internal Linking:
Internal linking is a good SEO technique in 2014. Internal linking means linking of old articles in a new post at suitable words (or) sentences. Blog post must have minimum 3 internal linking. The best example to this is, Wikipedia articles. There is few WordPress plugins to insert links for old posts. SEO pressor and Smart SEO smart links plugins are useful.
11. Image Optimization:
Image optimization means optimizing blog post images according to SEO strategies for search engines. Everybody post should have at least 1 image. It should be JPEG, PNG (or) Gif formats.
- Before upload: Save the image with target keyword in JPEG (or) Gif (PNG is recommended for fast loading)
- After Upload: Add the article title (or) keyword containing sentence in “Alt” tag.
This optimization helps to get the traffic from Google images also.
12. Use LSI keywords:
LSI means “Latent Semantic Indexing” LSI Keywords are words located on alongside of the keyword. These LSI keywords give the confidence to the search engines about the quality of your blog content.We can observe this type of keywords at the bottom of the Google SERP (Search Engine Result Page) with the heading of “Searches related to …” Here we will get the best long tail keywords.
